Samsung’s Galaxy Alpha, one of the company’s most impressive smartphones to date, is coming to AT&T this week. It’ll be available starting Friday, September 26th both online and in-store for $199.99 with a two-year contract. If you prefer AT&T’s monthly installment plans, the Galaxy Alpha costs $30.65 per month through Next12 and $25.55 monthly with Next18. Unsubsidized and contract-free, it’s priced at $612.99. The Galaxy Alpha features a 4.7-inch display, 2.5GHz quad-core processor, 32GB of storage, and a 12-megapixel camera.

But the story here is really the handset’s design, which stands apart from previous Samsung phones thanks to its metal frame and slim, light build. The Galaxy Alpha and upcoming Galaxy Note 4 represent a new, improved direction for the company’s hardware. And with the Galaxy Alpha officially coming to a major US carrier, it’s set up for a head-to-head battle with Apple’s iPhone 6 — also featuring a 4.7-inch screen.
