Bill Murray and Sofia Coppola, who previously collaborated on the beautiful indie film Lost in Translation, are doing an extravagant, star-studded Christmas special for Netflix. Yes, you read that correctly.
Bill Murray’s Netflix Christmas special looks like celebrity heaven
Although we’ve previously seen a teaser, this is the first look at what the special will actually be like — which is to say, Murray waltzing around with famous people while some kind of Christmas-y plot (and assuredly lots of singing) accompany him. This may in fact be a documentary of how he lives. Murray’s famous friends, both in the trailer and probably in real life, include George Clooney, Chris Rock, MIley Cyrus, Amy Poehler, Jason Schwartzman, Michael Cera, Maya Rudolph, Rashida Jones, Paul Shaffer, and the band Phoenix.
Will it be as memorable as Murray’s 1988 Christmas movie Scrooged? Only time will tell. A Very Murray Christmas will be on Netflix starting December 4th.
