David Cage’s new PS4 game is about androids who want to be human

French developer Quantic Dream is known for games like Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls, titles that strive to be emotionally poignant yet often struggle to hit their lofty goals. But that won’t stop director David Cage from trying: the studio just announced its next game, called Detroit. While the debut trailer doesn’t show what the game will play like, it does give you a good sense of the world and story. Detroit follows the story of an android named Kara who leaves the factory where she was created to venture out into the real world, and discover what it’s like to be human. If the studio’s past work is any indication, there will definitely be a few moments that try to make you cry. No release date was announced, but the game is coming the PlayStation 4.
