The memory-deficient hero of Final Fantasy VII is the latest character to fight things in Super Smash Bros. for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS. Cloud Strife, Buster Sword and all, will join the game as a downloadable playable character along with a FFVII-themed Midgar stage. Even in a game where Dr. Mario regularly throws pills at one of the stars of Street Fighter, I’m still surprised by this.
Final Fantasy VII’s Cloud is coming to Super Smash Bros.
... What?
... What?

There are no pricing or release date details, but the Nintendo Direct video announcing the news also mentioned that a special Super Smash Bros.-related broadcast is coming next month.
Just a reminder, these are some of the people that Cloud will be beating up:
- Mario
- Luigi
- Mega Man
- Ryu
- Pac-Man
- Kirby
- Pikachu
- Sonic the Hedgehog
- Wii Fit Trainer
- Yoshi
- Jiggly Puff
- Duck Hunt
