As the second season of Serial premieres — and, more generally, the true crime genre seems to have a resurgence — Netflix is showing its entry into the field. Following an earlier announcement, the company has now released the first trailer for Making A Murderer, a 10-part documentary series.

The story focuses on Steven Avery, who was imprisoned for 18 years, only to be exonerated based on DNA evidence. Two years after his release, he became a prime suspect in a murder investigation. The trailer released today doesn’t give away much beyond that, beyond a promise that “the truth will haunt you.”
All episodes of the show will be available to stream on December 18th.
