Well, we knew this was coming. After giving its loyal users one last parting gift yesterday, Rdio has finally announced the day it will cease to exist forever: December 22nd at 8PM ET.
Rdio is officially shutting down on December 22nd
It's been almost one month exactly since Rdio made the announcement it would be shutting down and selling off key assets of its service to Pandora. Pandora said then that it planned to launch an entirely new on-demand product with Rdio's tech and some of its employees. So perhaps Rdio's ghost will eventually live on inside Pandora, but for now, Rdio's imminent demise means users have just seven days to get their affairs in order — maybe Spotify can help?
