Bit by bit, American broadcasters are bringing live TV to mobiles and tablets, with NBC being the latest company to make the leap. An update for the channel’s iOS and Android apps introduce live streaming, although this will require users to log in with credentials from their TV provider and will only be available in markets where NBC owns the local station. (This will cover a number of large markets including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, San Francisco, and Dallas-Fort Worth, reports USA Today.) The update also supports Apple’s AirPlay (no word on availability for Chromecast though) and comes with a nice bonus: an expanded library of old NBC shows. These include the likes of The Incredible Hulk, Knight Rider, and The A-Team, so even if you’re missing out on live streaming you can at least kick back with some ‘80s kitsch.
