CBS’ upcoming Supergirl series will have plenty for older fans by the looks of it. According to The Wrap, Dean Cain, who played Superman in Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, has joined the cast of the upcoming pilot. Alongside Cain is Helen Slater, who just happened to play Supergirl herself in the 1984 film. Neither of their roles are known at the moment, but their making appearances should be a treat when the series finally debuts.

CBS announced Supergirl last fall amidst the premieres of other DC properties on television, including Gotham and The Flash. It will star Melissa Benoist as Kara Zor-El, a Kryptonian who takes the name Linda Danvers on Earth. In the months since, a number of stars have stepped into a variety of roles on the show, including former Ally McBeal star Calista Flockhart as media mogul (and Kara’s boss) Cat Grant.
