One of the year’s best gaming surprises has been Ori and the Blind Forest, a downloadable Xbox One title that plays like a classic Metroid game but looks like something made by Studio Ghibli. Its complex, sprawling world — a giant forest filled with magical creatures — is incredibly endearing thanks to wonderful art and absolutely amazing animation. It’s sort of like playing a really good animated film. Unsurprisingly, the concept art behind Ori and the Blind Forest is equally impressive, and doesn’t look too far removed from the game itself.
