Read a new chapter from George R.R. Martin’s long-awaited The Winds of Winter

The Game of Thrones continues. George R.R. Martin, the author of the A Song of Ice and Fire series and killer of all your favorite characters, has released a new chapter from his upcoming book, The Winds of Winter, on his website. The upcoming book will be the sixth in the much-loved low-fantasy series after 2011’s A Dance With Dragons, but partly thanks to how instrumental Martin has been in helping HBO’s Game of Thrones TV show become so successful, The Winds of Winter doesn’t yet have a concrete release date.

Good news for fans of dragons, snow zombies, and unexpected main character deaths, though — Martin has reportedly canceled a series of upcoming public engagements so he could focus on writing The Winds of Winter. The release of this new chapter might show that we’ll see the book before we turn into white walkers ourselves.
