Watch 9 minutes of Assassin’s Creed Syndicate gameplay

This alpha footage of Assassin’s Creed Syndicate doesn’t impress quite the way the E3 footage for Assassin’s Creed Unity did. Then again, Assassin’s Creed Unity proved a fancy preview doesn’t guarantee a great game.

The 9-minute gameplay demonstration shows a handful of Assassin’s Creed Syndicate’s new features, including horse-drawn carriages and a grappling hook. At the end of the demo, the hero leads a Gangs of New York-style brawl in the streets. As with many recent Assassin’s Creed games, the latest entry looks at this moment another step away from the simple premise of the original with its emphasis on brawling and group combat.

Ubisoft will likely present a more thorough demonstration of the game at E3 next month. Until then, the publisher will undoubtedly publish more videos on its YouTube page.
