After a small puppet show (seriously), Nintendo opened its E3 2015 showcase with a new Star Fox game, Star Fox Zero, coming to the Wii U this holiday. The third-person space shooter is very reminiscent of older Star Fox titles but adds a few more vehicles; in addition to the Arwing and Landmaster tank, you can now pilot a small mech walker (originally found in the unreleased Star Fox 2, according to Shigeru Miyamoto) and a “gyro wing,” which looks like a drone.

This is the first original Star Fox game since 2006’s Star Fox Command for Nintendo DS. A new Star Fox for Wii U was announced last E3 2015 but at the time was said to be early in development.
Nintendo opened its digital showcase with puppet CEO Satoru Iwata, puppet design legend Shigeru Miyamoto, and puppet Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime — who transformed into puppet Peppy, puppet Star Fox, and puppet Falco, respectively.
