For longtime fans of Russell’s work, there’s reason to be excited: Joy looks weird. Not as weird as I Heart Huckabees, but closer to Three Kings and Flirting With Disaster. Many fans of those early films, myself included, have hoped the director would return to stranger stories; this might be that film.
Joy arrives in theaters on Christmas Day.
