Medium update lets users schedule publishing times

Medium just got a little smarter. The publishing platform from Twitter co-founder Evan Williams will now let users schedule stories to publish at a specific time, bringing publishers more control over when they want their posts sent out into the world — at peak reading times, for example, or with stories more precisely spaced apart.

The option appears to be a catch-up moment for Medium, as most competing publishing platforms offer similar scheduling options. Medium also says its scheduling system is only approximate, with scheduled stories publishing “within five minutes” of the specified time.

Along with that announcement, Medium also says it will now start allowing users who run a publication on the site to connect to their Twitter accounts. By connecting the two accounts, publishers can import their Twitter followers as Medium followers, if they are signed up for Medium.
