Watch the first trailer for Flaked, Will Arnett’s new Netflix comedy

After the success of Bojack Horseman, Will Arnett is once again teaming up with Netflix for Flaked, a new comedy that will arrive on the streaming service on March 11th. Arnett plays Chip, a furniture maker who moves to Venice, California to escape his addictions, make friends, and get his life back on track.

He might be playing a human, not a horse, this time around, but there are distinct similiarities between Arnett’s Chip and the lovable Bojack — both have pasts mired in substance abuse, and both make a change of scenery to escape those demons. From its first trailer, however, the tone appears to be a little different. While the animated Bojack was sardonic, Flaked looks more inclined toward heartwarming moments, colored pastel shades by the California sun.

Arnett wrote the show, along with Mark Chappell, a writer for The Increasingly Poor Decisions of Todd Margaret. Flaked also reunites Arnett with Arrested Development creator Mitchell Hurwitz, who acts as the show’s executive producer. Arnett’s performance as Gob Bluth on the cult comedy was rightfully lauded, but the actor says he found it difficult to escape the shadow of Michael Bluth’s idiot older brother. “This show is probably a lot more in the line with the stuff that I always wanted to do,” he told Entertainment Weekly. “Ultimately, I realized that if I wanted to do this that I was going to have to create it myself.”
