The original round Nixie Watch made famous by Steve Wozniak is now available in a thinner, rechargeable, square design. Like its predecessor, the Square Nixie Watch features two Nixie tubes, a vintage technology that displays orange glowing numbers on bent pieces of metal suspended in gas. And like the original, it’s still a litmus test for nerds: you either love it or you hate it, there is no in-between. And even though the new watch looks like an oversized first-generation Pebble at a steampunk show — we still love it, unconditionally.

Key specs:

  • Measures 48-mm wide and 53-mm tall, and only 16-mm thick (6mm thinner than the original round Nixie watch)
  • Available in black, red, blue, violet, orange and gold anodized cases machined from aircraft aluminum
  • Lithium-ion polymer battery will run for 2 to 4 weeks between charges
  • Fits standard 22mm watch straps
  • Water resistant

You can preorder the $795 watch now with shipments ($15 in the US, $95 for everyone else) beginning in May.
