Today, Postmates is launching a 15-minutes-or-less lunch delivery service in New York City. Postmates Pop, which has been available in San Francisco since October and LA since last week, lets users of the on-demand delivery app order lunch items from a curated menu and get them delivered in 15 minutes tops. The service is only available between 34th Street and Bowery in Manhattan, and it doesn't charge customers a delivery fee.

Postmates is making the quick-delivery move just two days after UberEats removed a similar feature in New York City. UberEats' instant food-delivery, which promised a delivery time of 10 minutes or less, is still running in other cities including Chicago, Houston, and San Fransisco. Uber didn't explain why the feature was cancelled only in New York a month after its launch. The company stated in an email to UberEats' users: "In order to bring you the most exciting selection, the highest quality food, and the fastest delivery time, we've decided to narrow our focus."
