But it’s still streaming only on Tidal

As expected, Beyoncé‘s sixth studio album, Lemonade, is now available to buy on iTunes for $17.99. The album was released this weekend as a streaming-exclusive for Tidal, but some music is just too big to keep on a single platform. Not long after Lemonade went up on Tidal, it was made available for download worldwide for $17.99, before hitting iTunes early this morning.

Again, though, this is just to buy the album or individual tracks outright — streaming rights look like they’re going to stay with Tidal for the time being. The service is, of course, part-owned by Beyoncé and husband Jay Z, and has managed to snag a number of exclusives including Kanye West’s The Life of Pablo. That album eventually found its way to Spotify, though, as well as Apple Music and Google Play, and some fans may be annoyed if Lemonade doesn’t eventually make the same journey to rival platforms.
