In September 2013, Keiji Inafune launched an incredibly successful Kickstarter campaign to fund a spiritual successor to Mega Man, with the goal of launching in the spring of 2015. That obviously didn’t happen: Mighty No. 9 has been delayed three times since then, but now the developer claims it will finally launch on June 21st. “Now that the dust has settled, we will be delivering Mighty No. 9 to everyone next month,” Inafune says.

However, that’s not true for all versions of the game. Mighty No. 9 is coming to a huge range of platforms — including the Xbox One, PS4, Wii U, and PC — but Inafune says that the portable versions of the game on the PS Vita and Nintendo 3DS “will follow at a later point.” Mighty No. 9 also isn’t the only game Infaune is working on — the iconic designer has also teamed up with some of the key minds behind Metroid Prime for the Xbox One-exclusive ReCore.
