Javier Bardem is in talks to play the monster in Universal’s upcoming Frankenstein movie, according to Variety, which means the studio’s new monster universe is looking a little more complete, if slightly odd. Universal is currently working on creating a series of monster movies, including The Mummy, Dracula, and The Invisible Man. Tom Cruise and Russell Crowe are both slated to star in The Mummy, while Johnny Depp will play the lead role in The Invisible Man.

It’s still too early to say if Bardem will definitely join the cast of Frankenstein, but if he does, he’ll also be joining what’s shaping up to be a pretty strange universe.
