Microsoft has been gradually detailing all the new car options in Forza Horizon 3 in recent months, but the company has saved a secret addition for Halo fans. Halo’s Warthog will be driveable in Forza Horizon 3, alongside 350 other vehicles. It’s the first time Microsoft has allowed the Warthog to be driven outside of a Halo game, and something that both Halo and Forza fans have been requesting for years. It follows Microsoft’s move to include Fallout’s cars in Forza 6 last year.

The full model is, wait for it, the 2554 AMG Transport Dynamics M12S Warthog CST. Microsoft describes it as a civilian transport alternative to the militaristic M12 Force Application Vehicle. This modified Warthog features a 720 bhp twin turbo V8 engine, and is designed for the rough terrains found in Forza Horizon 3.

Halo’s Warthog won’t be freely selectable in Forza Horizon 3, though. Players will need to have played either Halo 5: Guardians or Halo: The Master Chief Collection on Xbox One. Microsoft is planning to distribute free codes via Xbox Live, and anyone who hasn’t yet played those Halo titles on Xbox One will also be able to participate in a Forzathon event in October to gain access to the Warthog.
