Watch the Michel Gondry-directed video for Jack White’s new track, City Lights

Jack White has teamed up with French director Michel Gondry for his new video for “City Lights.” The track is off White’s recent album, Jack White: Acoustic Recordings 1998-2016, a collection of B-sides and rarities from both The White Stripes and White’s solo career. It was originally written for The White Stripes’ 2005 album, Get Behind Me Satan, but never made the cut, according to Billboard.

The video for “City Lights” is a single shot, and turns a steamy shower door into an Etch A Sketch of sorts. It features the same kind of dreary, minimalist vibe that Gondry has applied to his other work. The clip is White’s fifth music video collaboration with Gondry, who also directed the visuals for 2001’s “Fell in Love with a Girl” and “Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground,” 2003’s “The Hardest Button to Button,” and 2005’s “The Denial Twist.”
