Raw is the debut film for director Julia Ducournau. It’s about a young girl who, after being hazed at veterinary college, finds herself craving human flesh. So I guess you could say it’s a classic coming-of-age tale, kind of like Old School.
The trailer is mostly wordless and very gory. Animal bits get eaten, skin gets peeled off of bodies, blood showers are taken. Legend has it the film’s screening at last year’s Toronto Film Festival made people faint.
So if you love a surprise physical reaction of disgust, Raw opens in theaters on March 10th, 2017.
