This week we saw not one but two new Android flagships leak: the LG G6 and Samsung Galaxy S8. We now have the first images of each device as well as a set of rumored specs that are beginning to coalesce into a near-complete picture of what we can expect when each phone ships.

First, let’s look at the unofficial specs at the heart of LG’s new G6:

  • 5.7-inch display with rounded corners (and unusual 2:1 aspect ratio) that stretches nearly top to bottom for a screen-to-bezel ratio greater than 90 percent
  • Google Assistant AI, the first non-Pixel to get it
  • All glass and metal construction
  • Water resistant
  • Headphone jack
  • Non-replaceable battery
  • Dual-camera system
  • Rear-mounted fingerprint sensor
  • Snapdragon 821 processor because the newer Snapdragon 835 is being hoarded by Samsung
  • Launching February 26th

We have a more complete — though still unconfirmed — picture of the Samsung Galaxy S8 thanks largely to the notoriously wily Evan Blass:

  • Giant 5.8 and 6.2-inch AMOLED displays (with unusual 18.5:9 aspect ratio) that wrap around the sides and cover 83 percent of the front
  • Samsung’s own “Bixby” AI assistant (presumably based on Viv)
  • Force Touch-like input with pressure sensitivity on the lower part of the display
  • Samsung DeX feature resembling Windows Continuum that creates a desktop experience when the S8 is inserted into an optional HDMI dock
  • No physical home button
  • Fingerprint sensor on the rear
  • Cameras: 12-megapixel f/1.7 rear camera, 8-megapixel f/1.7 front
  • Processor: Snapdragon 835 or Samsung Exynos, depending upon market
  • Storage: 64GB with microSD expansion
  • Memory: 4GB
  • Battery: 3000mAh (5.8-inch model) or 3500mAh (6.2-inch model)
  • Other: Headphone jack, USB Type-C, water resistance, iris scanner
  • Launching March 29th

So, dear reader, based on what you think you know at this point, what would it be?
