Given that Samsung is the world’s top-selling TV company, that’s a big audience that suddenly just got access to YouTube TV. The new app is only rolling out for the company’s more recent 2016 and 2017 models for now, but it’s a good sign for the service going forward that it’ll be compatible with Samsung’s screens.
According to Google, YouTube TV is still also slated to be available “soon” on 2014 and 2015 Samsung and LG TVs, Sony Linux TVs, and the Apple TV, although no firm date on those apps has been announced yet.
