The Weeknd has released a new video for “I Feel It Coming,” his second collaboration with French electronic music duo Daft Punk. It’s a gloriously retro music video that channels Michael Jackson and those science fiction films you’d find on VHS tapes at your local rental store in the 1980s.

“I Feel It Coming” first dropped back in December on Weeknd’s album Starboy, and it’s an easygoing, retro number. The video doubles down on the retro feel, with The Weeknd belting out the song on a desolate world. As the sun rises over the horizon, he’s joined by Japanese actress Kiko Mizuhara for a dance before an eclipse turns the pair into stone. Daft Punk shows up at the end once the world ices over to discover their remains.

Speaking to Billboard, Warren Fu, the video’s director, noted that he was inspired in part by the remains in the ancient city of Pompeii. “I was thinking conceptually of the people who were entombed in the volcanic ash of Mt. Vesuvius... that pose.”

Last fall, Daft Punk and The Weeknd released a video for Starboy, their first collaboration, as well as a short film called MANA, featuring the songs “All I Know,” “Sidewalks,” and “Secrets.” More recently, the pair performed the song at the 2017 Grammy Awards.
