A new take on The Sims is coming to your phone. Called simply The Sims Mobile, the game is available in Brazil today, and will start rolling out to the rest of the world soon after. It’s available on both iOS and Android.

EA hasn’t revealed a lot about how the game will play, but the mobile release will be based on The Sims 4 “legacy challenge,” a set of self-imposed rules that task players with building and maintaining a family across generations. The Sims Mobile will be a free-to-play game with social elements, letting players become virtual best friends with their real-life best friends. It’ll also include typical Sims features, so you can design your own characters and customize their home.

This isn’t the first time the series has tested the mobile, free-to-play waters: in 2011, The Sims Freeplay launched on iOS before expanding to other mobile platforms, and that same year The Sims Social made its debut on Facebook, before shutting down two years later. Both games made some significant changes to the best-selling life sim formula. Freeplay, for instance, introduced real-time gameplay, while Social put players in control of a single in-game character instead of an entire family. The Sims 4 on PC, meanwhile, is still going strong. Just yesterday EA announced that the game’s monthly active user base jumped 33 percent year-over-year.

The Sims Mobile looks like it will stick a bit more closely to the experience that turned the series into one of the best-selling PC properties of all time — and you should be able to check it out for yourself soon.
