Google updated its Play Store icon today, and the shopping bag is gone. Goodbye, shopping bag. This change is rolling out to Android users beginning today. Android Police first spotted the change and noted that the notification icons look slightly different, too. Again, the shopping bag is gone and it’s now only a triangle.

Google already nixed the shopping bag for Pixel devices that have round app icons, so really, the company is just bringing the design to more Android devices. I think getting rid of the bag makes Google seem more fun. It’s all about play and not spending money, you know? Either way, minimal design is always preferable for me, so kudos to Google.
