Apple adds PayPal support for purchases through iTunes and the App Store

Apple has introduced PayPal support as a way to make purchases within its ecosystem, including iTunes, the App Store, Apple Music, and iBooks. The feature is available for users in North America, Australia, Austria, France, Germany, Israel, Italy, the Netherlands, and Spain.

The addition will make it a little bit easier to start buying things through Apple’s services, since you’ll just have to log into an account instead of filling out all of your credit card information again.

Unfortunately, as we speculated earlier, this isn’t going to make it any easier to trick iTunes into letting you download region-locked apps. It turns out that PayPal checks where your account is registered and won’t let you use it for different regions when making a purchase from Apple. So if you’re trying to trick iTunes, it looks like the old method still applies: buy a gift card, and use that instead.
