In the film’s first trailer, Wiseau (played by James Franco) struggles through his stilted lines as the production team gets increasingly frustrated. The ridiculousness of it will feel familiar to fans of the original, while the Seth Rogen / James Franco pairing will likely draw in some curious newbies just looking for a goofball comedy.
The Disaster Artist is based on a nonfiction book of the same name written by Tom Bissell and Greg Sestero, who co-starred in The Room. The movie comes out on December 1st, 2017.
