The Preview Program allows users to test new features and provide feedback. As part of the program, Google says the updates will be of the same quality as production version rollouts, giving folks early access rather than betas. Users can sign up for the program by accessing their Home app, selecting the device, and opting in to the program from the Settings menu.
At Google I/O, the company teased a bunch of features for the Home, including free calling to phones in the US and Canada, streaming services, and a TV interface. If you’re interested in being among the first to play with these updates, the Preview Program is your best bet at trying them out as soon as they become available.
