Alicia Vikander’s debut as the iconic video game heroine Lara Croft on the silver screen is just two months away. In case you’ve forgotten, Warner Bros. released a new trailer for Tomb Raider today, set to what I can only describe as a “gritty” version of “Survivor” by Destiny’s Child.
Watch Lara Croft defy death in the latest Tomb Raider trailer
Sure, it’s a little on the nose, but Lara earns the title. Much like the 2013 video game the film is based on, Lara seems to constantly be either fighting off angry men, nearly drowning, or falling off something very high up.
Tomb Raider is a reboot of the film franchise that starred Angeline Jolie as Lara. In this version, Lara sets off on her adventure at the behest of her dead father, who left her a message before his untimely demise. On her way to a mysterious tomb called Mother of Death, her ship wrecks, and she finds herself stuck on an island with a bunch of very angry inhabitants.
Tomb Raider will hit theaters on March 16th, 2018.
