From The Handmaid’s Tale to The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, it’s a banner moment in TV for the terrors of womanhood. That trend, it seems — much like the terror of womanhood itself — is just getting started: Deadline reports that FX is developing Her Body and Other Parties, the award-winning debut collection of feminist horror stories from Carmen Maria Machado.

The series will be executive produced and written by Gina Welch, who’s worked on FX’s Feud: Bette and Joan, AMC’s The Terror, and Hulu’s Castle Rock, among other shows. Per Deadline:

Written by Welch, Her Body is an anthological series staging psychologically vivid tales of women’s fears and desires on landscapes of horror, fabulism, and wild-haired absurdity. It’s described as a feminist Black Mirror with fairy tale themes, its hours threaded together with a recurring ensemble of female characters.

When it was published last year, Her Body and Other Parties was lauded for gruesome stories like “The Husband Stitch” — the story of how a woman met her husband, and the violations that can happen within a marriage — and an extended, warped reimagining of Law and Order: SVU centered on its marquee characters Detectives Olivia Benson and Elliot Stabler.
