The Nokia X7 smartphone just announced in China is part of an expanding line of Nokia-branded phones that have revived the brand name under the wing of HMD Global. The new X7 has near-flagship specs with competitive pricing — as is often the case in the Chinese smartphone market — and is expected to launch outside of China as the Nokia 7.1 Plus. The Nokia 7.1 was launched earlier this month and is coming to the US for $349.

Specs include a 6.2-inch 1080p LCD screen (with a notch) and a Snapdragon 710 processor, with either 64 or 128GB storage (and 4 or 6GB RAM, respectively). The 3,500mAh battery supports 18W wired fast charging, while the 12-megapixel main camera is assisted by a 13MP depth sensor. Also, the Nokia X7 has a headphone jack, which is becoming increasingly rare.
The X7 will run Android 8.1 sans Google services (as is the custom in China), but will still receive Android One security updates, while an Android 9 Pie update is also in the works. The X7’s cost in China starts at 1,699 yuan (about $246).
