EU Big Tech watchdog: Elon Musk’s verification plan is “completely flawed.”
Musk has already angered US regulators, and EU ones aren’t too happy with him either. The European Commission’s competition watchdog Margrethe Vestager has criticized Musk’s loose verification scheme to CNBC:
“If you are to pay to be vetted and to be certified as being who you are and everyone can be you ... I think that business model simply is completely flawed.”
Twitter might be on thin legal ice in Europe after firing huge numbers of employees responsible for safety and privacy. But for now, Vestager says “we need to see how this develops before any decisions are taken.”
