Amazon thinks it can reinvent sports TV.
It’s spending more than $13 billion on Thursday Night Football, with games kicking off next week. This is a good read about all the work that required, like, how do you get Prime Video in bars? Also, Amazon has some... interesting ideas about how to broadcast games:
Amazon will overlay stats and game updates using what it calls X-Ray technology. It will offer an alternate stream for younger audiences, hosted by a group of YouTube personalities called Dude Perfect, and will also carry games on Twitch.
Also interesting: Amazon is guaranteeing advertisers at least 12 million viewers a game.
