Companies are still recovering from Microsoft deleting Windows app shortcuts.
Microsoft accidentally deleted app shortcuts in the Windows Start menu and taskbar on Friday, and IT admins are still recovering from the mistake. Microsoft has issued some scripts to help companies recover, but for many the shortcuts were permanently deleted and the damage has been done. Microsoft hasn’t yet detailed how it plans to prevent this messy situation from ever happening again.
