Oura is adding stress tracking to its smart ring.

Starting today, Oura Ring users should see a new Daytime Stress metric based on heart rate, heart rate variability, and temperature. Readings will be taken every 15 minutes. The iOS app is also getting a journaling beta feature where you can speak and record your moods and mental state. It purportedly uses AI to auto-tag your entries.

Later this winter, Oura says it’s rolling out another stress resilience metric that assesses how well a person is able to weather physiological stress.

It’s good timing. The Google Pixel Watch 2 just added stress tracking features, and it is the middle of Techtober.
