I am always amused when Google truncates a headline.
My full hed is “Google’s seven-year Pixel update promise is historic — or meaningless,” but that’s not what I see in every desktop browser with every keyword I’ve tried. The important last word gets cut off.
I doubt there’s any foul play: Google’s robots truncate our Verge headlines regularly, and I can see the full headline on mobile! It’s just amusing to think readers will come in expecting a rather different story.
