China approves Microsoft’s Activision Blizzard deal.
China’s State Administration for Market Regulation (SAMR) has unconditionally approved Microsoft’s proposed acquisition of Activision Blizzard. It’s the 37th country to support the deal, following the EU approval earlier this week. China’s approval comes nearly a month after UK regulators blocked Microsoft’s proposed acquisition, citing cloud gaming competition concerns. Microsoft says it plans to appeal the UK’s decision.
