Pocket’s ancient Mac app is going away in two weeks.
If you’ve been using the Pocket app for Mac, it’s time to start saying your goodbyes, as Mozilla has announced it will be retiring the app on August 15th. Instead, it suggests those with Apple Silicon Macs use the iOS app (I personally do NOT recommend this) and anyone with an older Mac visit Pocket in the browser.
The Pocket Mac app did let you read things in your queue offline, but aside from that it has been neglected for years and was long overdue to be put out to pasture. Pocket has been undergoing a long term redesign of its apps and services (with decidedly mixed results) so I’m not terribly surprised to see this development.
