While the Blink Mini 2 remains a basic 1080ps camera like its predecessor, it’s now a lot more useful if you’re already locked into the Amazon ecosystem. You can use it outside thanks to its IP65 weatherproofing, though you will need the aforementioned Blink Weather Resistant Power Adapter to do so. We wish it came with features like rich notifications and sound detection, but it’s still an excellent upgrade with better image and audio quality, USB-C power, and a wider field of view (143 degrees versus 110) for seeing more of your room or porch. At the same time, it continues to offer support for features like two-way audio and motion alerts, along with an adjustable design that’s easy to mount to a wall.

The 1080p Blink Mini 2 adds weather resistance to what was already an affordable security camera. It continues to offer a ball-and-socket mount for easy wall mounting as well, along with the option of local storage with a Sync Module or cloud storage; it also offers features like person detection, all for $3 a month.
Unfortunately, like its predecessor, you also still have to pay $3 a month for cloud storage and to take advantage of features like the new person detection setting. (Opting for the optional Sync Module 2 will only help you avoid cloud storage fees.) Still, that’s cheaper than buying cloud storage from rivals like Ring, Arlo, and Google. Plus, unlike with Ring’s cameras, you can still arm and disarm the camera for free.
