Republicans might repeal, no wait, “streamline” the CHIPS Act.

When asked if his party will try to repeal the bipartisan act, which Presidential candidate Donald Trump recently told Joe Rogan is “so bad,” House Speaker Mike Johnson said he expects the GOP “probably will,” writes The Associated Press.

Johnson made the initial comment while campaigning for a vulnerable New York GOP congressman in a district that is anticipating a large new Micron semiconductor manufacturing plant.

He reportedly quickly said he’d rather “streamline” the act, which has poured billions of dollars into spurring semiconductor manufacturing in the US.

The whitewashing of the National Archives.

Top US archivist Colleen Shogan has quietly been changing educational material and exhibits at the Archives museum — including removing references to dark periods in US history, The Wall Street Journal reports.

Current and former staff say Shogan engaged in censorship by removing mention of events like Japanese American incarceration, displacement of indigenous peoples, and the Civil Rights Movement.

Meta is profiting from election conspiracy theories.

Forbes reports that advertisers have paid Meta more than $1 million to place hundreds of ads promoting lies about the upcoming presidential election. The ads are running despite Meta’s own rules against election misinformation, including posts that “call into question the legitimacy of an upcoming or ongoing election.”

Surprise, surprise.

Elon Musk didn’t show up to a Philadelphia court hearing over his $1 million giveaways to swing state voters, which the city’s DA has called an illegal lottery.

By not showing up, Musk risks being held in contempt of court and could face a fine — which probably won’t hurt him much.

Elon Musk has been ordered to appear at a court hearing tomorrow in Philadelphia.

It’s for the DA’s lawsuit over his probably illegal $1 million daily voter giveaway — I wonder if he’ll show up.

Philly DA asks for more security at Musk’s America PAC hearing due to threats on X.

After Elon Musk shared a critique of District Attorney Larry Krasner’s suit to stop his swing state giveaways, the DA received an “avalanche” of antisemitic attacks, according to a legal filing. Krasner’s home address was even shared on the site, the filing says, with an X user writing that “Krasner loves visitors.”

Elon Musk concedes Trump’s economic plans could hurt for consumers in the short-term.

Independent economists have warned former President Donald Trump’s plans would harm the US economy, and Musk — one of his most prominent backers — apparently agrees that’s a likely initial result. Musk agreed with an X post that said Trump’s plans would cause an “initial severe overreaction in the economy,” but lead to “rapid recovery to a healthier, sustainable economy.”

A new generation is discovering Trump’s Access Hollywood tape.

Young people who were kids when Trump was caught bragging about groping women are hearing the recording for the first time via TikTok. Teen Vogue compiled some videos and comments:

i was in 7th grade in 2016 and i don’t [remember] much from it, but now i’m 20, educated, and ready to vote for the first time.”

“So as you may know... I’m a billionaire.”

The Washington Post posted a funny TikTok about owner Jeff Bezos’ decision — which he is publicly defending — to cancel its planned endorsement of Kamala Harris.

Jeff Bezos would like you to know that his non-endorsement of Kamala Harris was “a principled decision.”

It was just a little whoopsie it got announced so close to the election, that’s all! Also he didn’t know about the Blue Origin meeting with Trump and besides that was not his fault. “I sighed when I found out,” he says. I guess people are still canceling their subs!

Where we voting, boys?

As part of its get-out-the-vote efforts — which included Tim Walz playing Crazy Taxi — the Kamala Harris campaign has created a Fortnite experience called Freedom Town, USA. You can try the experience at code 7331-5536-6547.

Hopefully the campaign makes an Animal Crossing island, too.
