On the most recent Vergecast episode, we speculated about Apple’s plans for a new Mac Pro and what it might be like when it arrives with one of the company’s M-series chips inside.
However, the latest rumor from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman claims plans for some sort of extreme “double-M2 Ultra” chip have been scrapped (for those counting at home, that’s four M2 Max CPUs working as one) to stick with an upgraded Ultra chip combined with a modular design.
If that’s all there is to it, what does that mean for the future of the already impressive — but not modular and easily upgradeable — Mac Studio?
