Multiformat iPad movie app CineXPlayer’s latest update to version 2.5 includes a host of new features, some of which can’t be found anywhere else in the App Store. Most prominent is support for Dolby Digital Plus in 5.1 or 7.1 channels, a first for iPad movie players. Users can now import movies from either the Camera Roll or Dropbox without syncing to a computer, and can use full video AirPlay with an Apple TV. The subtitles have added customizability, and two sets can be displayed at once. CineXPlayer has also gotten the iCloud Backup blocking that’s already come to some other video apps, preventing movies from taking up valuable storage space. You may still be watching movies on a ten-inch display, but you’d be hard-pressed to do it in more style.
