Google hinted last year that it would be adding some Chrome functionality similar to Windows Remote Desktop Connection, and with the release of Chrome Remote Desktop beta, it’s now a reality. Google’s take on remote connectivity (dubbed “Chromoting”) offers a secure cross-platform connection between two computers with the Chrome browser or Chrome OS, including Windows, Linux, or Mac. Of course, remote computer connections have been around for a long time now, but Google’s implementation is pretty painless to set up — all it takes is quick installation of a single plugin to the Chrome browser and use of a 12-digit one-time access code to connect machines.
