A million baby monitors and security cameras were easily viewable by hackers

They should be fixed now. Hopefully.

A whole lot of Fast and Furious.

During NBC Universal’s upfronts presentation, Vin Diesel made a surprise announcement: not only is Fast and Furious coming to TV, it’s somehow getting four different spinoff series. There are no other details right now, but the show will be streaming on Peacock whenever they do come out.

Anbernic’s rotating screen Android handheld is now available.

It may seem gimmicky, but according to Retro Dodo and Russ Crandall, Anbernic’s RG Rotate is an excellent handheld emulator with a unique design and more processing power than it needs. It’s now available through Anbernic’s online store for $87.99 for the black plastic version and $107.99 for the metal silver one, but both are temporarily discounted to $82.99 and $99.99, respectively.

I like my split ergo Joy-Con.

Dbrand’s new $20 Joy-Lock is simple, but great. I typically don’t ever want to use my Switch 2 Joy-Con, but that’s changed a bit since this holder lets them spread out for added comfort. The Joy-Lock looks and feels best when used with the company’s $20 grips (also included with the Killswitch), but they aren’t required.

If you buy something from a Verge link, Vox Media may earn a commission. See our ethics statement.

The mechanism spaces the Joy-Con apart about as much as Nintendo’s stock Joy-Con grip.
Putting the Joy-Lock into Batarang mode requires pulling on the Joy-Con with a fair bit of force.
The Joy-Lock shells aren’t required, but they add some much-needed ergonomics to the Joy-Con controllers.

The social web, now in Wordpress.com’s reader.

The reader, which already lets you track things like RSS feeds and podcasts, can now serve as a hub to track your Bluesky/AT Proto and Mastodon feeds, too. Over the second half of this month, the team is working on adding features like a shared composer to make posts across networks.

GAME OVER.

You play as Donald Trump in the new web game Epic Furious: Strait to Hell. I lost my first run within 90 seconds by trying to hold hands with Melania. Oops. I got a GAME OVER — yes, in all-caps.

Epic Furious seems to be created by the same anonymous group — “The Secret Handshake” — which installed a statue of Trump and Epstein holding hands on the National Mall.

I haven’t gotten far enough yet, but good luck surviving an encounter with Pete Hegseth and Kash Patel.

Yes. Yes you can.

We are having an arugment about evidence.

Last week, an expert witness testified about the 2025 recapitalization of OpenAI. OpenAI has said they’d like to include the AG’s conclusions, since the removal of the profit cap was mentioned. YGR is annoyed; she told Musk’s team not to go into detail, and OpenAI didn’t object at the time. “We’re in mud,” she just said. The problem is that Musk’s team is treating it as the crux of the “breach” Musk is alleging.

Commencement x AI, Carnegie Mellon edition.

While Gloria Caulfield’s invocation of AI at a commencement fell flat, over the weekend, Nvidia founder and CEO Jensen Huang received an honorary Doctor of Science and Technology degree and a few ovations while delivering a nearly 20-minute speech about AI and robotics.

After joking that, “CMU students, like robots, take instruction one at a time,” he exhorted them to “help create a future more abundant, more capable, and more hopeful than the world you inherited.”

Commencement x AI, UCF edition.

At the University of Central Florida graduation ceremony for the College of Arts and Humanities, as well as communications and media, commencement speaker Gloria Caulfield didn’t get the response she was apparently expecting after calling AI “the new industrial revolution.

As a VP of strategic alliances at a real estate firm, celebrating AI and Jeff Bezos probably goes over differently in her meetings.

Mercedes-Benz recalls thousands of cars because of blank screens.

According to documents filed with NHTSA, defective software was triggering a system reset that would result in temporarily blank screens. (If you’ve seen Mercedes’ massive screens, you’ll know that’s a lot of blank real estate.) Drivers could lose access to their driving information, which could cause a crash. The recall affects 144,000 vehicles built between 2024-2026, including the AMG GT, C-class, E-class, SL-class, CLE-class, and GLC-class.
