In case you missed it, the Dreamcast-shaped EmuDeck Machine is dead.

There were reasons to be skeptical of the turnkey, emulator-centric Steam Machine idea, and reasons to root for it too — but in the end, Sedano tells me he only got around 40 orders, and that he needed closer to 100.

He says he’s already refunded every backer, and did produce these two cases before shutting the project down:

Presidential betting platform Kalshi loads up on debt.

The startup has received “tens of millions from investors in short-term loans“ to make sure it can cover election bets:

Like most brokerages, the company offers instant funding to new users. This means users can start trading right away, even though it may take two to three business days for the funds to be officially transferred from the customer’s bank account to Kalshi’s.

The new Mac Mini was announced earlier this week which has afforded some people enough time to come up with solutions to easily access its underside power button. Ivan Kuleshov has shared the 3D printable files for their iFixTheButton which will save you from having to squeeze a finger under the Mac Mini to power it on.

Skydio will have to ration batteries — one per drone — because China is calling it a “US Military Company.”

Even as DJI fights the label of “Chinese Military Company” in the US, rival Skydio is facing similar scrutiny in China. Three weeks ago, China froze its assets because it allegedly provided military assistance to Taiwan.

Skydio says its only Taiwanese customer is the National Fire Agency — and that the move will impact battery supplies for months.

Forbes reports on “evidence of rampant wash trading on Polymarket,” a prediction market site backed by Peter Thiel’s Founders Fund. Wash trading is a form of market manipulation. “The suspicious activity on Polymarket raises questions about the accuracy of the site,” Forbes writes.
