Adam Schiff joins Sen. Marsha Blackburn in expressing concern, urging Meta to “compensate creators and publishers for their work” after the company’s updated terms seemingly gave itself permission to train its AI on news sites. Those changes have since been tweaked and pushed back until November 20th, but Schiff says “a delay isn’t enough.”

I took Halide’s newly Duo-updated iOS app for a spin to try out the waist-level viewfinder feature, shooting with Process Zero for some added lo-fi flair. It was a good time! But you’re definitely gonna get called out when someone spots it, and the fish-slinging folks at the Pike Place Fish Market don’t miss a beat. They were kind enough to help me test the selfie camera, at least.
After Nikita Bier’s one-year stint in the role, Peter Sellis, formerly of Ustream, Snap, Discord and Microsoft, is leading the app formerly known as Twitter.
An email to staff seen by 404 Media says the Proton Mail owner needs “people who can translate AI’s capabilities into better products, stronger execution, and new ways of working.” It reportedly calls the re-interviews “consequential,” adding that they “may lead to changes in roles, responsibilities, and continued employment.”
Thomas Dohmke has officially launched Entire after teasing the decentralized coding platform in July. Similar to GitHub, developers can use the platform to host and review code, but it’s designed specifically to work with AI agents, replacing pull requests with a “Trails” feature that offers “customizable evals that are scored by agents on every code push.”
Halide III just got its iPhone Duo update with re-worked controls for the new screen formats and a feature that Apple’s native camera app left out: a waist-level viewfinder. When you use the phone in its L-shaped pose the image preview will appear on the top portion of the screen. I was hoping I’d be able to move the preview to the lower half of the screen and use it like a classic Hasselblad camera. It’s a nerdy little detail, but Halide is made by nerds, for nerds, and I appreciate that.
