Re: Nancy Mace’s social media strategy.

The Republican congressperson is reportedly so preoccupied with how the internet talks about her that she instructed staff to go to Reddit discussions about the “hottest women in Congress” to upvote and comment in support of her, according to a New York Magazine profile. Previous reporting also indicated that Mace’s staffers were asked to make burner social accounts to defend her.

QA workers at Blizzard have ratified a union contract with Microsoft.

The contract, which will cover more than 70 workers, includes things like guaranteed wage increases, restrictions on mandatory “crunch time,” and “enhanced regulations around the usage of AI and generative AI in the workplace,” the Communications Workers of America (CWA) says in a press release.

X safety teams ‘repeatedly warned management’ about undressing tools.

While X has long allowed NSFW images, The Washington Post reports that the platform’s content moderation filters couldn’t handle the estimated millions of sexualized deepfakes of real women and children being generated by Grok.

“For instance, child sexual abuse material was typically rooted out by matching it against a database of known illegal images. But an AI edited image wouldn’t automatically trigger these warnings.”

TikTok USA is back.

We can confirm that basic features in the US do seem to work reliably now on the new Trump-friendly entity’s servers, even if the algorithm still seems a little wonky at times. Per TikTok USDS Joint Venture LLC:

We have successfully restored TikTok back to normal after a significant outage caused by winter weather took down a primary US data center site operated by Oracle. The winter storm led to a power outage which caused network and storage issues at the site and impacted tens of thousands of servers that help keep TikTok running in the US.

Great, but how many of ya’ll have abandoned the platform?

Apple no longer dominates global supply chains.

Prices could increase (or profits thinned) once Apple’s current stock of components like DRAM, NAND, and advanced chips runs out, according to The Wall Street Journal:

Artificial-intelligence companies are writing huge checks for chips, memory, specialized glass fiber and more, and they have begun to outduel Apple in the race to secure components. Suppliers accustomed to catering to Apple’s every whim are gaining the leverage to demand that the iPhone maker pay more.

Upgraded MacBook Pros could be just around the corner.

Mark Gurman says in the latest edition of the Power On newsletter that the slightly spec-bumped MacBook Pros (not the touchscreen OLED models) should launch as part of the macOS 26.3 release cycle. That means he expects them to hit shelves before the end of March.

All signs point to an imminent launch of next-generation MacBook Pros that retain the current form factor but deliver faster chips. I’m told the new models — code-named J714 and J716 — are slated for the macOS 26.3 software cycle, which runs from February through March. Another sign that an upgrade is coming: Supply of the current high-end MacBook Pro models has tightened significantly in Apple’s online store.
